Bill's Medical Bills

Back in November, my dad Bill Plourde went to the hospital for a routine procedure, in the aftermath of it he quickly dealt with internal bleeding, cardiac arrest, and spending the next three weeks heavily sedated on a ventilator. Before the doctors and amazing medical staff woke him up it was learned one of his heart valves was restricting how much blood was flowing into the heart, this is what led to the first cardiac arrest.

As he woke up and started the road to recovery he soon had another cardiac arrest in January. This time he was, on an emergency basis, moved to a different hospital that could better deal with his cardiac needs. He then spent the next two months recovering, moving between Intensive Care and other floors at Bridgeport's St. Vincent's Hospital. In March, following a week and a half of Rehabilitation in St. Vincent's Acute Rehabilitation Wing, he was discharged to return home. However, this is not the end of the story. Bill still has more procedures to go, including a Valve Replacement.

The last four months have been hard on our family and while our insurance is good, no insurance plan is good enough for spending four months in two different hospitals. With Bill out of work and with the hospital bills coming in every day, it's why we've now turned to GoFundMe to help raise money to support us in covering the current medical bills and the future ones that will come when the valve replacement happens in the coming weeks and months.
