Christine’s Lipedema Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christine and I was diagnosed with Lipedema in April of 2022. Lipedema is a connective tissue disorder that mainly affects women. There is a lot of misinformation regarding Lipedema and it is often overlooked by medical providers. It took my own research, an increase in pain post-pregnancy, and a knowledgeable doctor just to diagnose me at the age of 36 although my first signs/symptoms occurred around the age of 12.
There is theoretically no “cure” for Lipedema but surgery to remove the diseased tissue has the best long term outcomes at this time. Unfortunately, since I’ve tried conservative treatments this year to no avail, it is time for me to seriously consider surgery. Of course, that comes with a high price and traveling out of state. If you would like a breakdown of the total, I’m more than willing to provide that.
My ultimate goal is to no longer have pain. If you are unable to donate, please take the time to share this. For more information on Lipedema, visit https://www.lipedema.org
