Growing our family

As many of you know, Kilee and I have been having a hard time having a baby. We have been trying for almost 4 years now. We surprisingly were able to get pregnant in June 2021. Unfortunately, we had a miscarriage. We have continued to try without any luck on our own. We have done testing and there hasn’t been a definitive cause. What many of you don’t know, is that last September we did an IUI (intrauterine insemination) procedure. It worked!! We were pregnant. However, at our very first ultrasound the baby was not as big as it should have been. And then the next ultrasound the baby barely grew til eventually we had an ultrasound where the baby no longer had a heart beat. I miscarried at home just before Thanksgiving. We then proceeded with more testing to figure out why we have had two miscarriages in a row, still with no real cause as to why it keeps happening. The baby’s tissue was tested and found to have an extra chromosome 16 so he/she wouldn’t have lived a very healthy life even if the pregnancy went to term. Now we are at the point where we want to proceed with IVF. We have been doing fertility acupuncture, tracking ovulation and taking all the recommended supplements with no success of our own. We are thankful that my job does offer some fertility benefits but our out of pocket costs are still going to be pricey. The IVF itself will be around $5500. This does not include medications, which can be almost $4000 themselves! Obviously we will do everything we can to make this work but we are asking for some help raising money from family and friends so that we can proceed and finally have a baby. With losing Kennady and now two miscarriages, it has been really hard on us emotionally, feeling defeated every time that test is negative and my cycle comes. I know we would be amazing parents and just want the chance to love a baby and grow our family. If you have the means, we know times are tough, please consider donating to our IVF fund.
