Scholarships for youth impacted by Hurricane Ian

The Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club raises approximately $150,000 every year, and gives that much away in educational scholarships to local youth and in grants to social programs that benefit our young people.

In this our 50th year as a service organization, our islands were devastated by Hurricane Ian, whose 155 mph winds and 9-feet storm surge severed roads and bridges, badly damaged all our homes, completely destroyed most of our businesses, and scattered our community from the special place we call home. Our traditional fundraising activities — community dinners, golf tournaments, restaurant coupon books — have been rendered impossible, and we are looking for new ways to raise money for our island youth — who need our help now more than ever as they rebuild their lives with their families, friends, and neighbors.

Will you please help us raise $50k on this our 50th Anniversary? Any donation, however small, will help make an impact. 100% of donated funds will go to supporting local youth during this time of great need. As a 501(c)(3) charity your contributions to us may be tax deductible.

We are hoping by April to be able to provide scholarship announcements for our students and by June to make grant announcements to our community organizations.
