Help Baby Eli fight cancer for a 2nd time

Meet the beautiful Handlsperger family. Kevin, Kelsea, Wyatt and Baby Eli are amazing people, but Eli is about to have his SECOND battle of a lifetime.“Baby Eli” as we call him, cause he will always be a baby to his family, turns 3 on July 23rd but despite being so young, he is about to begin his second brave battle with cancer.
The Handlspergers managed Eli’s first cancer battle with strength, optimism and prayers. They are about to pay for Eli's second battle with cancer with their hearts and souls.
After his long first battle with cancer as a baby, which first included a rare diagnosis, months of chemotherapy and then a large operation - there was good news. The prognosis was that he had beat it and it was not likely to come back. Family and friends were able to finally take a breath of relief, and rejoice. Eli and those close to him were able to enjoy his hard earned health and everyone who knows Eli can attest – he is the happiest little guy you’ve ever met!
Unfortunately recently there was unexpected devastating news. After a routine check up, and some follow up tests, it was confirmed that the cancer had returned. This was, and still is, a shock to everyone, as it was suggested that the type of cancer Eli had beat was rare and not likely to return. Everyone’s collective hearts sank.
The type of cancer is rare to begin with and apparently a re-lapse is next to unheard of. The costs are unknown at this time, but undoubtedly there will be many. On top of the emotional drain there will also be a financial drain, whether due to the uncovered costs of some medications, the need for the family to travel for medical purposes and extra costs associated with hospital stays.
Eli’s cancer and situation is so rare that the family has been in touch with a specialist outside of the country who is currently following their treatment plan. I hope that if the time comes where they need to visit this specialist, we can put them in a position where money is not a factor whatsoever!
This is truly a heartbreaking situation, so lets make sure that finances are not causing the family any stress or second thoughts. We want to make sure that they can focus on what is truly important, their family and being able to spend time together throughout this next journey. In the months to come Kevin will be taking time off work to spend extra time with Eli and as a family and Kelsea will not be returning to work at all.
Money is not everything, but it undoubtedly has an impact. Please donate to help the Handlspergers, and Eli face this uphill battle. We can all do a little that will amount to a lot in Eli’s life.
