Ghosts Need Help Too!

PLEASE KEEP OUR GHOSTS SAFE!!!
The longest running haunted house in our area, Literally, A Haunted House’ (www.hauntedculbertson.org ) was established in 1985 by The Friends of The Culbertson Mansion, Inc, a nonprofit organization acting as the fundraising arm for the Culbertson Mansion in New Albany, Indiana.
Every week-end in October dozens of volunteers ranging in age from 5 to 55 gather to enterain those brave enough to enter our doors. Unfortunately, our building is in need of serious repairs for the safety of our volunteers and guests and WE NEED HELP!!!! Anything will help, even just a dollar or two!
We have been using tents to make-up and prepare our volunteers the past few years and cramming costumes and props where ever we could but have experienced trouble. From rainy nights that made the tents unusable to frigid cold temps that made our volunteers sick, the tents are unsuitable. Worse, local thieves stole several thousands of dollars in equipment and supplies making it clear we have to find a place in the haunted house itself to relocate.
Unfortunately, the only place large enough is the third floor loft. Originally intended for storing hay, there is no proper or structurally sound floor; in many places there is no flooring at all. What electrical wiring exists is old and in need of being brought to code. Walls are nothing more than subroofing and in some areas still show fire damage from a lightning strike several years ago. In order for this space to be utilized and made safe for our volunteers, it requires a complete overhaul; new subflooring and joists, insulation and walls, new electrical wiring, as well as a staging area for make-up application and places to store and maintain props and costumes.
Walls and ceiling are subroof boards and open rafters. Electricity is old wiring strung in rafters.
Fire damage from old lightening strike.
Many places have no flooring,
Existing boards are unsafe, old and in desparate need of replacement.
With your tax deductible donation, our goal is to raise enough money for a floor so our volunteers will have a safe, warm, and secure place to come and entertain our community while supporting a local landmark. We are the longest running haunted house in the metro-Louisville area and face stiff competition from for-profit haunts with much larger budgets. All proceeds from our haunted house go directly to the restoration and preservation of the Culbertson Mansion. http://www.indianamuseum.org/explore/culbertson
Thank you for any help you can give us. $1.00, $2.00, or more. It will be very much appreciated by all.
