85th Day Team Support Fund

Our mission at 85th Day Food Community is to support our network of farmers and artisans and bring thoughtful, farm fresh food to our neighbors.
Now, we ask our neighbors to support us in our time of need.
85th Day Food Community is a Mystic, Connecticut based restaurant group and catering company that includes Oyster Club, Engine Room, and Grass & Bone restaurants. It has been our privilege to serve our community for the past ten years, and this fund would help to support those who make it possible.
This fund will directly benefit the 143 staff members at our restaurants that have been laid off due to state mandated restaurant closures in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. We would be nothing without the talent and dedication of our team. Our hope is that this fund helps to bridge the gap until we can open our doors again.
Funds collected through this campaign will be individually disbursed directly to our staff members that are out of work, to be used as they see fit for what they need most, be it food, rent, utilities, childcare, or other living expenses.
"Independent restaurants are the backbone of our communities. They employ over 13 million people across the country, contribute $1 trillion to our economy and represent 4% of our GDP. With the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurants are closed for business.
As of today, up to seven million people have been laid off, and millions of farmers, beverage suppliers, delivery people, manufacturers, launderers, and other small businesses will have their bills go unpaid, creating an unprecedented trickle-down effect of damage to these local restaurants and their communities. Independent restaurants are the lifeblood of our economy and our communities, and they need our help." - Food Policy Action
