Helping Konnor
Donation protected
Hello friends and family. I am creating a GoFundMe for my brother, Shaune his wife, Angie and Konnor. Please consider a donation.
This post is a post that our family doesn’t wish upon anybody. This past month has been the most devastating month that Shaune & I pray others can avoid in their lifetime. Our brilliant, resilient, smart, kind-hearted, funny and now seeing bravest child, baby of our family - Konnor was diagnosed with Metastatic Medulloblastoma Cancer. This is an extremely aggressive cancer that started as a brain tumor, which has spread throughout his whole spine and into his spinal fluid. His symptoms started as a really strong migraine headaches and vomiting 5 - 6 days mostly in the morning around mid-September. Urgent care & his PCP diagnosed him with tension headaches due to video game playing. On Friday, October 13th our world came crashing down in a matter of seconds. School called informing us that Konnor was confused; didn’t know where he was or who anybody was. The ambulance was called and he was rushed to Helen Devos where we met him. That’s when the tumor was found. A drain was inserted to drain fluid that was blocked, then surgery a few days later to remove the tumor on the brain. Surgery cannot be done on the spine. Konnor was released to go to Mary Free Bed for rehab about a week and a half ago. He was finally able to come home last Thursday. He started Chemo and Radiation yesterday, which is 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Then a 6 week break. Then Chemo starts back up with additional chemo added. That will still be 5 days a week for 6 months. Our journey is LONG, but Konnor is a fighter and we will fight for him on the days he feels he has no fight left. We appreciate any positive vibes and prayers you can send Konnors way. He needs them all. For those who are already fighting with us - no words or enough thank you’s can ever be said to show how much it has meant to us!! Update tonight - 11/14/2023 - Konnor had his first treatment yesterday and suffered some severe side effects from the chemo & radiation. He was up all night vomiting. When we went in for treatment today, he had lost 5lbs overnight and the treatment was really painful. Konnor has been admitted to the hospital again. We are really hoping this is a short, “24 hour” stay, so we can get him back home!
