Raising Money for Surgery
Donation protected
Hi. I’m coming to my friends and family here to seek help funding the deductible/fees/copays for a needed right thumb trigger release procedure.
This is an outpatient surgery that I’ve had in a different finger in the past. This time, it’s more pressing since the affected thumb is on my dominant hand which also happens to be my cane hand.
Recently, my infusion center (and others I’ve checked with) is out of my infusion medication for CRPS. They tell me there is a national shortage. Most days I can’t walk without a cane without significant fall risk if at all. I’ve had two injections to try and resolve the issue without surgery but neither has fully resolved the issue. If it gets much worse, I’m going to have a serious problem with getting around.
Normally, it wouldn’t be a problem to cover the deductible and other out of pocket expenses but without my infusions my other expenses are higher from missed work and additional appointments and medications so I have no cushion right now.
I know that it isn’t the best time to ask for help, with the holidays looming and inflation what it is right now, but I find that I have to ask. My insurance changes January 1st at which time the cost will increase then containing a rolling monthly deductible, a copay and a coinsurance. If you can help, every little bit makes a difference. If I am unable to get the procedure as scheduled, I will put the money aside toward a reschedule after income taxes if I get a return or until I can save the $$.
Even if you are unable to help, thank you for taking the time to read this. Happy holidays!
