Reuben Lorch-Miller Fundraiser
Donation protected
We are raising funds for our dear friend Reuben Lorch-Miller, who is currently going through a difficult health crisis. Reuben was recently diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer and has just begun treatment. Although he has received a positive prognosis, it will require several months of chemotherapy, radiation and convalescing before he can return to his life and work.
About a month ago, Reuben noticed something was a little off. A routine doctor visit turned into something that no one wants to hear or welcomes. Prior to his diagnosis, his plan was to work all summer, stacking money to get through the next year of grad school. As this plan has been derailed, we are rallying around Reuben to make sure he is financially stable so he can heal without worry. The cost of living as an artist and a student in New York City is extremely high. The stress that comes with figuring out where your next job will be or when that paycheck will arrive can be unnerving for even the healthiest.
Reuben has been actively making art, teaching and sharing ideas for decades - from the Pacific Northwest music scene to 90's Bay Area to wild performances and exhibitions in New York City. Reuben has participated in many aspects of the arts, contributing to the rich cultural fabric. He is a deep thinker, and the level of care and sensitivity in which he navigates the world is remarkable. Showing signs of a true empath, it's no surprise Reuben is currently enrolled in the Mental Health Counseling graduate program at the City College of New York. Reuben has continually given more than he takes. It is our hope that friends, family, acquaintances, allies and strangers can rally and support him during this challenging time. We need Reuben to be healthy; the world needs Reuben to be here leading by example- a beautiful life.
To help Reuben focus solely on recuperation, we ask for any financial help in hope of alleviating some of the burden of the loss of income and expenses related to treatment.
During this time, we ask that you please respect Reuben’s and Laura’s privacy around this issue.
