House Fire Rebuild

Around 2:52 am on Saturday, June 18th we were woken up by a neighbor screaming that our shed was on fire. My mother, sister, nephew (Almost 3) and niece (1 years old) ran out of the house with only the clothes on our back. The fire had already consumed the entire shed before quickly spreading to the back of our house. This was where my mother and nephew were asleep. By the time the fire department got there the fire had spread to her room and bathroom. It was starting to spread into the living room, kitchen and dining room, but the fire fighters got there before it spread all the way in those rooms. The investigation is ongoing and it is believed to be arson. My mom lost everything in her room (Clothes, medical supplies (She just had surgery a couple weeks prior to cut half of her foot off), photos, etc.). We did not have home owners insurance because when my mom started having health problems she had to stop working and we could not afford it. The Red Cross came a couple hours after the fire and gave us a few hundred dollars to “Spend how we see fit”. That money was used on clothing for my mother, niece and nephew, food and gas to get everyone to the hotel, work, etc. We have been fortunate to receive donations towards our stay in the hotel. 6 of us share 2 queen beds, but we are all alive and together which is what really matters. We need help raising money to clean out the house and rebuild. We are responsible for all clean up, disposal and to still pay lot rent. We are taking everything a day at a time, praying and depending on good friends for smiles. Any donations will be used for clean up, repairs, housing for now, taking care of my niece and nephew and all of us.
