Jordan Szoke suffers devastating crash

Jordan Szoke is the most successful racer in the history of Canadian National motorcycle competition. The 43-year-old, originally from Brantford, Ontario, has earned an unparalleled 14 National overall Superbike Championships, as well as solid success in road racing National support classes and other two-wheeled disciplines, including Observed Trials and Mountain bicycling.
Szoke’s ambitions to earn a 15th overall National Superbike crown was derailed last week while moto crossing at the Walton, Ontario, National venue. After a hard landing from a jump, Szoke was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries and was later transferred to a larger facility in London, Ontario, for surgery.
Operations stabilized his damaged legs and ankle, and Szoke also suffered jaw and facial injuries. “The people’s Champ” is sidelined for the foreseeable future.
There is no way to know when Szoke might return to competition, and on Facebook late last week he wrote “It’s going to be a long road to recovery, but with the help of my family, friends and fans, I will be back.”
In the meantime, Szoke is unable to make a living through his competition career to provide for his family and will incur significant costs associated with his recovery. Close friends and family members have worked together to set-up a GoFundMe with the goal to offer Jordan and his family some financial support in their current state of need.
Scott Miller, owner of Fast Company , has been by Jordan’s side for much of his professional career and had this to say about him:
“On both a professional and personal level, Jordan and I worked hard in the off season, and things were looking positive for our quest to win another number one plate, which is so crucial for Jordan in order to pay the bills as everything is based on performance. This has been a huge blow to Jordan physically and financially and I would like to do my part to help him get through this difficult time, only weeks before the start of the 2022 season. My hope is that Jordan's family, friends and motorcycle family will help him during this time of need and that he will come out winning once again.”
Motorcycle enthusiasts, friends, and fans of Jordan Szoke, please consider providing whatever financial assistance you can to help him manage while he recovers from this major set-back. Thank you.
