Dan Nesselt Recovery Fund
Dan is a hard-working and compassionate husband to his wife, Sarah, and father to their 2-year old daughter, Elizabeth ‘Ellie’, as well as their three furry 4-legged kids, Bean, Pepper and Mr. Earl.
As a dedicated husband and father, Dan stayed with Sarah and Ellie while they both recovered from COVID in late April. Refusing to leave them alone in the house during that time, he stayed to provide as much comfort as possible, while still maintaining distance and using precautions. Unfortunately, he ended up testing positive, as well.
One day following his positive test result, on the morning of May 7th, Dan suffered a stroke while at home with Sarah and Ellie. Fortunately, 911 was called immediately and Dan was taken to the hospital, where he spent a week in ICU before being transferred to an inpatient rehab for physical and occupational therapy.
The stroke caused left-sided weakness and paralysis, which has left Dan with no use of his left arm, and weakness in his left leg. Thankful to be at home and grateful for everyone who has reached out to the family with food, flowers, prayers and well wishes, he is regaining strength in his leg and is now able to walk without assistance.
Everyone who knows Dan knows how hard he will work to recover fully and get back to doing the things he loves; first and foremost being an active and loving husband and father!
