89 Year Old retired Pastor needs home repairs!

Hello, my name is John Humler and I am raising funds for Reverend George Hughes and his daughter Connie.
The Kershaw Baptist Association Local Missions/Disaster Relief Team are taking on the project to help Retired Pastor George Hughes and Connie, his daughter, repair or replace their trailer which has become nearly unlivable.
In late June 2023, their area received 5+” of rain in a few days. For Pastor George Hughes and his daughter Connie, it created even more frustration with their home. Pastor George is 89 years old and retired after 27 years of service to a small local Church in a different denomination, in a community with a rough reputation. Pastor George was a shining light in the darkness, having led revivals in the community while shepherding his flock. Living on social security income, their aging mobile home has declined into a state where significant water leaks from the roof and around the windows has caused rot in the window sills, flooring, joists, insulation, etc. The heat and air system has failed and they now use portable kerosene heaters and window air conditioners to try and stay comfortable. A local contractor, a brother in Christ, has offered to use his crew to repair the damage and we have some SC Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers ready to help with the tear-out, which will reduce the repair costs. Currently, it appears that a minimum of $13,000 is needed to repair the known defects, hidden issues may drive that cost higher. Should the cost estimate substantially rise we will need to seek to purchase a replacement trailer and have it installed on the same location. Please pray and consider donating any amount you can, together we can show God's people that our love is not in words only or limited to one denomination but to anyone that has answered God's call and served him!
