Tiffany’s Breast Cancer Battle

August 6th, 2021 was the day my life changed. I went to a radiology lab for a baseline mammogram and walked out knowing something was wrong. August 24, 2021 my biopsy results came back and I was diagnosed with triple negative, stage 2B, invasive ductal carcinoma. At 38 years old with no prior health conditions, receiving this kind of news was incomprehensible.
As time moved on I had major insurance issues with both the original facility I was seeking treatment as well as my insurer. I had a two week period where I had no oncologist or treatment. My test results during this time was rolling in and the news kept getting worse. I had an MRI late September and the results showed my cancer had grown in size and was also in my lymph nodes. I had my new oncologist explain to me that my cancer is now stage 3.
Triple negative breast cancer can only be treated with chemotherapy regardless of its size. This type of cancer is very aggressive and it’s more common in women under the age of 40. The type of cancer I have isn’t genetic. No one in my family has ever had this kind of breast cancer.
I have started chemotherapy and my body is having a hard time with the process. I live alone and I have to take chemotherapy to survive. My working days are (temporary) coming to an end and I really need help. The medical bills are starting to pile up and I know I need to physically take care of myself if I’m going to beat this! I am trying my very best to stay positive and to take all the proper steps necessary. Come January I will need to pay 100% of my deductible up front to continue my chemotherapy.
I appreciate you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for the love and support!
