English Camp and Teaching Workshop
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Michael Morsches, and I would like to invite you to participate in an incredible opportunity that will be unfolding this next month. I will be travelling to Jordan to do a training project at a new school in Irbid that will provide services to local community children, children with special needs, and students who are currently refugees. It will be a two-week project. The first week I will lead a teacher-training workshop to help the new teachers learn to make their classrooms more interactive and student-centered. The teachers and staff will then lead an English Camp for local children the second week. They will work to apply their new ideas and strategies in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. Finally, many of the teachers will go on to participate in a semester long Scholarship of Teaching and Learning seminar where they will explore their teaching philosophies in more depth. The seminar will conclude with a teaching application project that I will share on my blog.
There are two ways you can participate: 1) You can donate money to help us cover our expenses for the two-week project (this project is supported by the Arar Academy and my school, Moraine Valley Community College who are covering my expenses) that include teaching supplies, food and beverages for the teachers and students for two weeks, and student scholarships. 2) If you are a teacher, you can volunteer to be an online mentor for the teachers as they prepare their activities for the English Camp. In either case, mentoring or donating, you can message me on this site for more information.
I am also creating a small incentive option for donations that allows me the excuse to do more woodworking. For details, or to follow the project as it continues, you can visit my blog at:
