Ironman Dan in aid of Milford Hospice
Dan Shanahan to do a full Ironman at home for charity after event cancelled for 2nd year in a row.
Dan Shanahan is set to complete a full Ironman in Limerick and the surrounding counties on Saturday, 28th August 2021 in aid of Milford Hospice after the official event that he was due to compete in has been cancelled for the 2nd year in a row.
Dan is going to have to adapt to his local surroundings after Ironman Cork was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19.
This triathlon distance requires a 2.4 mile swim (3.9K), 112 mile bike (180.2K), and 26.2 mile run (42.2K). Depending on course conditions, and the weather on race day, Dan is hoping to complete these three legs in about 11 - 14 hours on the 28th August 2021. Rather than let his training go to waste Dan has decided to try and raise some funds for Milford Hospice.
Your donations would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you.
