Help Kayla & her kids, they have lost everything!

Hi y’all -

We reaching out in DYER need of help. I am setting this up on behalf of my friend Kayla. She and her 3 children being removed from their Texas home, due to two types of Toxic Mold found in the walls, covering our entire HVAC System. (Asperiligis and Cladisporium)

She has been advised by our mold inspector, to throw anything and everything porous away, which is 98% of their belongings. This is to prevent cross contamination in their new home.

They will be starting over, from scratch, including the very basic needs. This is equivalent to watching your house burn down, right in front of you and has been utterly devastating to say the least.

The medical costs have been through the roof (Kayla alone has Lyme and Fibromyalgia). They even have to acquire a new vehicle due to cross contamination.

At this time, they cannot accept used items, due to the risk of there being mold on any items, continuing to affect our health, or spores being brought into the new place. But we have also linked an amazon wish list below if you would like to contribute in that way.

Backstory from Kayla:

Our mold was only visible first, in the grout in the kids shower. After my daughter ended up in the PICU for a week on oxygen 234/7, and all of us being incredibly ill for a year, it drove me to inspect the inside of the walls.

The mold report states that a structural engineer is necessary to reasses the outside of the home, as it was built so poorly. Poor ventilation in the attic caused the upstairs of our home to be at a constant 65-70% humidity level. The mold grew down the walls causing the wall that makes my daughter’s room up, to be covered in Asperiligis-A type of spore that causes lung infections, especially in children and the elderly. The Cladisporium mold has been mostly found in the downstairs wall by our back door that is also attached to my master bathroom shower.

Both molds are covering the HVAC system that has been blowing down on us for 2 years, saturating everything, including the carpet upstairs.

These 2 toxic molds plaguing our home spread like wildfire and you cannot remove them out of your porous items. This is what has us having to start from scratch

To note: Unfortunately, Insurance is not able to help with our displacement. I also no longer own this home, their father does, and he is the one who will have to handle the homes remediation, going forward.
