GAA Gear Charity fundraiser
At Gaastockshop we are from and based in Laois and we are extremely grateful for the support that we have received since we set up during the country’s first lockdown. With that in mind, we think it’s time to give back to the community and to charity in particular. All the details for our fundraiser are on our instagram page, Gaastockshop and we recommend reading them before making a donation. The two charities who will be benefiting from the fundraiser are close to many peoples hearts as cancer and mental health issues are on the rise in our country. The money raised willbe used to provide assessments and treatment for young people and their families( CAMHS) and also to provide free care and support for cancer patients and their loved ones across Ireland, aswell as funding life saving cancer research( Irish cancer society) the two charities are:
1 - CAMHS - Child and adolescent mental health services. CAMHS is a service that provides assessment and treatment for young people and their families who are experiencing mental health issues. CAMHS is available to all young people up to the age of 18, who are experiencing mental health problems.
In relation to the current pandemic, along with the daily figures, it is important to consider the mental health repercussions of a lockdown and how this has effected so many young people across the country. CAMHS are working to combat this and you canhelp by making a donation of any size.
2 - Irish cancer society - The Irish cancer society are a community of patients, survivors, volunteers, supporters, health and social care professionals and researchers who, in many different ways, are doingtheir best to fight cancer. They provide free cancer information and support, raise awareness about cancer, fund life saving research and keep cancer on the governments agenda.
In recent times, keeping cancer on the governments agenda has been an issue thanks to the pandemic but these funds raised will be greatly appreciated and put towards great use.
The fundraiser will run for one week from Wednesday 21st October to Wednesday 28th October.
100% of all donations will be split evenly between the two charities and all donations, no matter how big or small, are greatly appreciated.
*Note* the funds raised will be withdrawn to my own personal bank account and then transferred to the two chosen charities from my bank account.
Thanks in advance, Oisin
