Help Ashley Receive Her Diploma
Donation protected
My sweet and dear friend Ashley needs our help.
Ashley has been endeavoring her dream as a dentist since 2007. During which time she’s earned a slew of degrees such as a bachelor degree in general science with an emphasis in substance abuse and prevention and a minor in chemistry as well a masters degree in health science. Ashley is just weeks a way from completing her doctorate in dental surgery. Ashley has persevered and risen above every set back including the tragic death of her mother and my life long friend Luanne, who was her sole supporter.
As a student of a famed historic black college, and a new mother and wife; things really seemed to be going her way until The school’s financial aid system was compromised. A financial aid worker stole nearly a half million dollars leaving its students in the balance.
For close to a year Ashley didn’t receive any financial aid while the school sorted it all out. After several terms without an income she was awarded what would seem to be the sum of the missed financial aid awards. Ashley moved full steam ahead only to learn that she had been overpaid and is now required to payback of $21,000 before they issue her diploma. Without such diploma, she’s unable to obtain her license and accept an offer to practice at her first job as a licensed dentist. This transition is all to take place in a matter of weeks.
I realize this has been a bit long-winded but I wanted everyone to know how special and hard working Ashley is, what a good steward she has been of the money she has borrowed and the many scholarships she has received over the years.
I know that we all account for every dollar we all bring into our households and looking at this number of $21,000 may seem overwhelming and perhaps even a bit audacious but I’m asking all community members, family and friends to please donate what you can, even a $1 donation will add up to our goal. No amount is too small.
Blessings and thank you in advance .
