Adam's Eagle Scout Project

Hi my name is Adam Armstrong and I have been in scouts since the first grade. I am now 17 and working on my eagle scout project, and for it I will be removing invasive species from a historic old growth forest along Proctor Creek here in Atlanta.

I first got the idea for this project after doing service work in the area for a company called EcoAddendum. EcoAddendums mission is to preserve Atlanta's natural beauty in it's many historic old growth forests, and hosting an eagle scout project along proctor creek would be a major step in the right direction for the restoration process.

The main issue that this eagle scout project aims to fix is the presence of invasive species, especially English Ivy and Privit- which will be the main focus of the project.

The invasive species out-compete natives for resources, which is an issue because many of the native plant species in the area are very rare and are only found in undisturbed environments, such as the location of my project.
