CRISIS FOR THIS COUPLE, ANDY NEEDS LUNG TRANSPLANT

In April 2023, Andy (46) was diagnosed with severe, progressive interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. It is incurable and only a lung transplant will prolong his life. No cause identified. They are absolutely devastated.   (Please see photographs of consultant & nurse’s summary letters below.)

The transplant process is long, extremely tough and very expensive.
It will also affect their ability to work. Ran is a professional opera singer and was planning to busk in all weathers near home so she could support Andy, but they have been told they will need to shield him from respiratory infections. This means she must stay home to keep him safe this winter.

They only have 4 working radiators in their house, and it is extremely cold. They urgently need more installed before the weather turns. Andy will probably need a stair lift & a wet room downstairs, along with house reconfiguration to accommodate his restricted mobility. The ongoing medication is also extremely expensive.
An ex RAF serviceman, Andy has never smoked, hardly drinks and has been fit, until now. They have been married 9 years and are inseparable..usually helping out friends or neighbours themselves : They are good people who are trying to stay positive and do all they can, but without your help this will become a great deal worse.

They have NOWHERE to turn without your help. With little savings, their parents both passed away, and with the emotional distress, shock and financial worries, it is hard to cope or see any way forward.

ANYTHING you are able give will make a vast difference to them in so many ways... and could be life saving for Andy...
