SayNoToThe Cemetery.com (2)
Donation protected
Hi - we represent the membership organisation 'SayNoToTheCemetery.com'; set up by residents to oppose the proposed cemetery in Oswaldtwistle - which if approved will remove the greenbelt on the site.
The first campaign and fundraiser was a success and the applicants withdrew their application at the time.
This is a second fundraiser following the announcement that the applicants want to submit another application.
There are now FOUR ways to give your support ...
• Become a Donor - Wherever you live, whatever your motivation, if you want to help our organisation raise funds, we would welcome your support. These monies will go towards instructing professional support from a number of organisations that specialise in these types of cases.
• Become a Member - Go to the website (www.saynotothecemetery.com) and apply to become a member. All members MUST live in the parish wards of Oswaldtwistle, as these communities will be directly affected by this planning being approved. Your name will be included as part of the 'collective voice'.
• Become a Supporter - Go to the website (www.saynotothecemetery.com) and apply to become a supporter. You don't need to live in the area, but may just feel passionate about the cemetery not being built for one of many reasons.
• Become a Volunteer - Go to the website and submit your details. If you have the skills and / or time to help fight this proposal we want to hear from you.
The group has been set up to respond as a collective of residents, with expert advice and representation from legal, planning consultants and landscape specialists; all of whom come at a premium.
We previously raised £17,000 but following a second attempt by the applicant, we are raising another £13,000 to enable us to continue pursuing this at the highest level.
Thank you to those who are getting involved - we appreciate everything you are all doing!
If we are successful and there are funds remaining, this will be used to re-invest in a community project.
