Hope for Alex

Dear friends,
I'm raising funds for my childhood friend Alex. She is 27 years old and currently lives in Ruse, Bulgaria.
She has been diagnosed with a genetic disease – Spinocerebellar ataxia type 7 (SCA7). This is an inherited disease from her mother, who passed away in 2013 when Alex was just 21 years old. According to traditional methods the disease is incurable. It affects the central nervous system and leads to brain damage and loss of coordination. It causes progressive changes in vision (which can result in blindness). Her symptoms began when she was 14 years old and since then it has only gotten worse. At this moment she cannot move autonomously, thus she's using an assistive walker/rollator.
As the illness progressed, Alex's vision degraded with clarity of only 1% remaining. This complicates her everyday activities and is even dangerous for her.
Luckily there’s a clinic in Germany that provides therapy/treatment, giving Alex a chance to improve both her vision and quality of life. The total amount is 10,000 € and she's currently unable to afford it. Therefore, I’m asking for your help.
You can find more information about the clinic on this Facebook page .
Thanks to all of you who will open their hearts and will answer my call for help!
Please, good people, help my childhood friend regain her vision.
You can donate on this website or directly to her Bulgarian bank account (if you're Bulgarian)
<3 THANK YOU! <3
