Milton’s medical expenses

On Friday October 13th we received the devastating news that milton had an accident during a roofing job in Wyoming. The weather conditions made working on the roof unsafe and slippery. While he was at the top of the ladder, it slipped from under him and he fell 8-10 feet straight on the top of his head onto concrete. The owner of the home called 911 and he was unconscious upon arrival, he had lost an excessive amount of blood. He was taken to the Memorial Hospital of Sweet Water County where they determined he was in critical condition. They life flighted him to the University of Utah hospital where they admitted him to the trauma 1 unit. They found that he had a broken skull, multiple facial fractures, multiple brain bleeds, and a fractured spine. He’s now being monitored in the Neuro Critical Care center, waiting to hear if he needs surgery. As of right now he’s stabilized but recovery will not be easy. He’s no longer able to work and has a couple kids that rely on his income. Milton is self employed and has no health insurance to help cover any costs. If you know Milton, you know how outgoing, selfless, and hard working he is. The Garcia family would greatly appreciate any help we can get to ease the financial burden of his hospital stay and him no longer being able to work.

El viernes 13 de octubre recibimos la devastadora noticia de que Milton tuvo un accidente durante un trabajo de techado en Wyoming. Las condiciones climáticas hicieron que trabajar en el tejado fuera inseguro y muy resbaladizo. Mientras estaba en lo alto de la escalera, ésta se resbaló debajo de él y cayó de 8 a 10 pies directamente sobre su cabeza sobre el concreto. El dueño de la casa llamó al 911 y al llegar estaba inconsciente y había perdido una cantidad excesiva de sangre. Fue llevado al Memorial Hospital del condado de Sweet Water, donde determinaron que se encontraba en estado crítico. La vida lo llevó en avión al hospital de la Universidad de Utah, donde lo ingresaron en la unidad de traumatología 1. Descubrieron que tenía el cráneo roto, múltiples fracturas faciales, múltiples hemorragias de cerebro y fractura de columna. Ahora está siendo monitoreado en el centro de cuidados neurocríticos, esperando saber si necesita cirugía. Por el momento está estabilizado pero la recuperación no será fácil. Ya no puede trabajar y tiene un par de hijos que dependen de sus ingresos. Milton trabaja por cuenta propia y no tiene seguro médico que le ayude a cubrir los gastos.
