Pave the way for Dan Paik
Donation protected
Jan 14, 2014. Dan Paik has a non-small-cell carcinoma removed from his left lung. What had previously been 4.5cm x 5.5cm had grown to 9cm, and required removal of the upper left lobe of his lung, pieces of three ribs, and a resectioning of the chest wall.
In March, Post-op Dan starts chemo/radiation treatments. By the beginning of April, his body is pretty ravaged by the treatment. By mid April, he's in and out of hospitals and nursing facilities. Over Memorial Day weekend, he enters hospice care.
As of today, his left lung is no longer functioning. He's as comfortable as we can make him, and still smiling when he's awake.
