Jennifers Lyme Disease Medical Fund

I am writing this story today to tell you about my beautiful wife Jennifer Willows and the amazing mother of our two daughters Jordan and Devyn. As you may know, and some of you may not know, Jennifer has been fighting chronic Lymes disease going on four years now. The battle has been long and arduous needless to say, and currently she is not winning the battle. We have seen numerous doctors and spent countless thousands of dollars trying to help her feel better and possibly cure her of this horrific disease and debilitating symptoms.

The government and the CDC suggest and recommend that the treatment be a two week protocol of IV antibiotics, we tried this approach two years ago and Jennifer ended up having a gallbladder attack on Christmas Day which sent her to the hospital for a five day extended period. Nothing over the past four years has made any significant improvement in her health to any degree. We have exhausted all avenues through standard medicine, including the Mayo Clinic, numerous Naturopaths and medical Doctors in other States via phone consultations. She took a Lyme Tincture protocol for a 6 month period.

For those of you who know Jennifer she is kind, compassionate, and incredibly talented with a huge heart for others and is not a quitter. She has remained extremely joyful and faithful through this crazy battle. This disease is stealing all of those attributes from her life at this time. The severe pain from the neuropathy in her feet and legs makes it extremely difficult to manage daily living, but she pushes through every day and is amazing. Some of the other symptoms include, brain fog, lack of concentration and memory. She suffers from severe joint pain, eye pain and migraine type headaches.  This is far from the woman that we all know and it makes it so extremely hard to sit and watch.

The frustration with the government and doctors and the countless roads that lead nowhere has been very, very disappointing. The Lyme bacterium is an incredible bug that can hide, it is very stealth like, it can morph your own cells and it is extremely difficult to kill off because of its long life cycle. Most antibiotic treatments are 5-7-10 or 14 days to treat many of today’s viruses, a lot of these viruses have a very short growth and life cycle where the antibiotic will catch it during its life cycle and kill it. The Lyme bacterium has a very long life cycle, up to 45 days. So by giving a 14 day IV it will not even come close to touching the Lyme bacterium in its life cycle along with the associated co-infections that are typical with Lyme, which she has. It has gotten to the point that it is now chronic because it has gone on for so long.  This is a very basic description of Lyme.

Jennifer’s treatment will have to be through a Lyme Literate Dr. (LLMD) which is out of network and insurance does not recognize. We have found a LLMD Doctor Ken Mitchell at Lifestream Wellness in Arizona who will take Jennifer as a patient, although her first appointment with tests and medications is about $1200.00, just to get started!  This will be our starting point with a combination of long term antibiotics and other Lyme protocols that we have discussed with Dr. Mitchell.

I am writing this story as a plea for help! I need help in funding her recovery. This was very hard for me to write and ask for help as I am a very proud person and want to be able to take care of my family without having to do this. Unfortunately we are just stuck in a holding pattern until we find the funds to get started on a new journey to recovery with Dr. Mitchell.  Jen is passionate to tell her story in hopes of helping other’s to remain hopeful and strong and to bring awareness to Lymes Disease.

If you can help we are very, very grateful. If you can’t we understand, and if you can’t, would you be so kind as to share her story in hopes that someone in your network would be able to help.

Thank you and God bless you!
