CANCER SUCKS!
We have a dear friend Sal that was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, which is a big word for liver cancer. He was diagnosed on May 1, 2015 and since then has undergone radiation embolization and Chemotherapy pills, neither of these treatments has been successful. In the meantime, he has developed nodules in his lungs, in other words, the cancer has metastasized from his liver to his lungs. His other issue is that his blood platelets are too low to be eligible for any other traditional treatments. What do you do when you don’t qualify for any other treatments or trials within traditional medicine? Sal only qualified for two types of treatment and neither of them has been effective. Sal is 53 years old, has 3 adult children and two grandchildren. He has been our neighbor for almost 17 years and we sincerely treasure Sal’s and his wife’s friendship. He is our garden buddy, the snow plower of the neighborhood, the traffic cop yelling at speeding cars to slow down and is always willing to help when asked. We feel we need to help in some way. His wife has researched diligently and has found some non-traditional treatments. And, by the way, the insurance companies don’t want to pay for the non-traditional treatments even when these treatments have been shown to be successful in killing cancer cells. We are looking to raise money to help Sal with some non-traditional treatments. Everyone deserves a chance to fight for their life in any way they can! Traditional treatments are not helping. We would like to do everything within our power to give Sal and his family the fighting chance they deserve in the non-traditional way! We have all had someone in our lives that has been touched by cancer. Some have won and carry on a quality life, others have not. Nobody should have to give up, just because they can’t afford expensive treatments. Again, the non-traditional treatment’s cost a fortune and are not covered by insurance.
