Marathon for Matt

Tax deductible
Friends and Family,

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season.

As many people enter 2023 making resolutions, I too am determined to better myself and push the limits of what I thought I’m capable of. In 2018 I ran the Detroit Half-Marathon and while I thought that was the most I could run at one time, I’ve had a nagging itch to run it twice in the same day. As you’ve probably guessed by now, I am going to run the Detroit Marathon this October.

I prefer to remain out of the spotlight, especially when it comes to any type of personal goal or accomplishment. However, as much as this is about individual aspiration, I’ve decided to run for reasons more meaningful than any athletic achievement. I’m going to run to honor the memory of my friend, teammate, and brother Matt Bertuch.

Matt brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. I can think of no better way to remember Matt than to raise awareness by pushing my own physical limits and raising money for the AFSP, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

If you would like to support me in this effort, please donate whatever you can, even just $1 as every dollar counts. If you are not able to donate, a message of support to keep me accountable is more than enough.

I very much appreciate you reading this and keeping Matt’s memory alive by coming together and supporting each other in 2023.
