Booth's Medical Crisis
Tax deductible
Handsome Booth was a rescue from Chicago Animal Care and Control. He came to CatNap with a splinted and wrapped leg. After an initial vet visit, it was determined that the splint was correctly placed and he was healing well after a femur break endured as a stray. When we first met him, we knew he was special. We gingerly lifted him from his carrier and he gently touched our faces with his paw. This cat was remarkable. In a matter of moments, we all fell in love with his angelic little face. He was neutered and was almost due to have his wrapped leg checked at the vet when we noticed he was very hard in the belly and had become lethargic overnight. We rushed him to the vet to find out that he had a urinary blockage that was very painful. The next couple of days were spent with a catheter and round the clock veterinary care. We were encouraged to hear that he was doing better but found out that his leg was not healing as hoped and would need to be amputated. He was scheduled for the amputation at the end of the week when we heard that his urinary blockage was back and he could not properly empty his bladder. This is very painful and could be very dangerous. On top of the amputation, Booth will essentially need reconstructive surgery on his urethra. The two surgeries combined, along with the extended catheterization and antibiotics, will cost $2000. We know it has only been a few weeks since we pleaded for help with Moses, but the unexpected surgery on Booth's urethra due to the blockage was not planned for and we could use your help again. Please share and donate on behalf of this truly remarkable feline. Booth thanks you and CatNap thanks you.
