Nick Reynhout is a 21 year old junior at the University of Central Florida. He was majoring in business and was looking forward to graduation and was ready to begin his adult life until everything changed in October 2019. He began having headaches and vision problems when he was taken to the doctor. Nick was diagnosed with the most aggressive type of cancer that occurs in the brain, glioblastoma.
His family sought out the best doctors for him and settled on a team in Orlando, Florida. Nick's team of doctors believed that the best course of action was for him to have surgery immediately to remove the tumor. The surgeons were able to remove almost 90 percent of the tumor, and upon completion they believed the surgery to be a success. Unfortunately, when Nick returned for a follow up scan three weeks later the tumor had grown back 100 percent. At this moment there was no denying how aggressive his cancer was.
Nick then began rounds of chemo and radiation and was also enrolled in an experimental treatment to minimize his symptoms. Since diagnosis, Nick has been receiving treatments in Orlando where his doctors are located. His parents have been traveling back and forth from Palm Beach Gardens to take him to treatments.
This fundraiser has been established by his friends to help with medical bills and ease the burden on Nick’s family, allowing his mom to relocate to Orlando. In doing so, his family can focus all of their efforts on his treatment, healing and spending precious time together. As the Reynhout family faces this incredibly difficult time we are asking for your help to alleviate some of the financial obligations that are mounting during this time of critical care. No amount is too small.
Nick has remained incredibly optimistic during his treatment and has not complained once since receiving his diagnosis. Nick enjoys spending his time with his girlfriend, Ashley along with his roommates and several friends from his high school, The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Nick’s family’s faith in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has been the greatest source of comfort to them during this very difficult and emotional time. If you are comfortable, we would ask that you join his family in prayer for complete healing from his cancer. We believe that Jesus is Jehovah-Rapha, The God who heals. We are believing God for all the promises He has for Nick and we know that He is right there fighting this battle with him every step of the way.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
