Give Grace To Gracie/Bella.

On January 2, 2016, this adorable Austrailian Shepherd puppy was allegedly thrown from the bypass overpass at Sandcreek Road here in Brentwood. My family and I were heading on to the bypass towards Antioch to do some shopping when we spotted an older gentleman trying to get this dog, who was clearly injured limping with her back leg dragging on the ground, out of the way of traffic. We immediately pulled over and rushed to see what had happend. The gentleman told us she was thrown from the overpass and landed on the ground below, Sand Creek Road, right in front of his truck, forcing him to slam on his brakes trying not to hit her. The gentleman handed me a leash that he had in his truck and once I got the leash around her neck, she laid down, she was so sweet and you could see in her eyes that she just wanted help. A few other people stopped and helped us carry the dog to the side walk where we then decided to load her into the back of our car and rush her to the Antioch Emergancy Vet Hospital off of Hillcrest Avenue in Antioch. Since she was not our dog, we needed to surrender her, by doing so she would be transported to the Martinez Animal Shelter on Monday, January 4, 2016, when they opened and would be examined for external and internal injuries there. We left our information with the Emergancy Vet and have been keeping in touch with Animal Services; we have learned that she has a broken femur which needs surgery to fix and a dislocated wrist that needs to be casted. My family and I are trying to do our best to raise money to help animal services pay for the medical bills as we are planning on adopting her as soon as she is ready to come home.
