In early May, my 15-year-old nephew, Shawn McEvoy suffered from a brain bleed, likely caused by an AVM, and underwent emergency brain surgery. Shawn spent several weeks in the PICU during the early stages of his recovery. Since then, Shawn has been moved to an inpatient rehab where he will receive various therapies to aid in his recovery. While Shawn has made some strides in the early weeks of his recovery, he still has a long road ahead. It is estimated that Shawn will need 6+ months of inpatient rehab.
Shawn is truly an amazing kid! He is kind-hearted and always there to help others. This is in addition to being an incredible athlete. Shawn is on the Old Bridge freshman football team, a skilled wrestler, and on the track team. He excels at everything he puts his mind to. Now, he needs to put his mind on nothing but his recovery.
We continue to pray everyday for Shawn to have a speedy, but more importantly, full recovery!
