Helping Kids In Need
Donation protected
Dear Friends and families,
My siblings and I, with the unwavering support of our parents, are proud to introduce "Real Helping Hands " (https://realhelpinghands.weebly.com), a project dedicated to assisting people in need. Our journey with this project began in 2020, and to date, we have accomplished several meaningful initiatives. We donated and set up a water filtering system alongside reusable water bottles for 375 children at Hambegamuwa Primary School in Sri Lanka. Donated a computer and a big screen monitor along with educational videos to a primary school in Batapola. Shipped books from the USA to enrich the libraries of three schools. During our visit to Sri Lanka last year, we distributed a suitcase filled with school and art supplies, as well as running shoes, much to the delight of the children. This summer, we shipped two boxes filled with new and used books to further support school libraries, and they are currently en route to their destination.
Our proposal is straightforward yet powerful: In Balapitiya, a town situated in the southern province of Sri Lanka, there exists an orphanage that my parents have consistently supported. This orphanage provides a home for approximately 35 children, and whenever we visit Sri Lanka, we make it a priority to offer assistance and provide essential supplies. These children are enrolled in a nearby school and have an ongoing need for educational materials and basic necessities. With your generous contribution, we can collectively work towards our shared mission of improving the lives of these children in need. Your support will have a significant impact on their well-being, ensuring they have access to the education and essentials that are crucial for a brighter future.
As for the funding of this project, it primarily comes from two sources:
Your generous contribution: We have set up a GoFundMe account to make it easy for you to contribute. Your support, no matter how small or large, is greatly appreciated.
My personal contribution: I am committing 100% of my income from tutoring towards this cause. You can also make a direct transfer to me using Zelle
We thank you in advance for your kind-hearted support, which will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children.
Sincerely
Ayami Ratnayake (Cypress Bay High School, Weston Florida)
