In the beginning of 2018 my sister and her husband found out they were having twins. They were filled with joy! They had doctors appointments every 2 weeks because twins were considered a high risk pregnancy. Although it was an exciting time they also learned that the babies weren't growing at the right pace and something was wrong. They found out that the twins umbilical cords were having reverse flow meaning that the babies weren't getting proper nutrition. The doctors didn't know why. My sister and her husband were told that the babies were at high risk of not making it and that they needed to monitor their growth with 3 visits per week.
At 26 weeks my sister got preeclampsia and they found no flow to the babies and she had to have an emergency C Section. The surgery went well and they delivered Wyatt at 1 pound and Paisley was 1/2lbs.
Five days after they were born their precious girl passed away, and after 147 days in the NICU, they got to bring their little boy home.
Wyatt is still on oxygen, weekly doctor visits, and many medications to help his respiratory system continue to develop. He is a trooper and is doing well despite his rough start to life!!
I would like to honor Wyatt and Paisley by raising funds so that my sister, husband and Wyatt may grieve without worrying about additional financial burden.
The proceeds from this campaign will be used for the many medical bills, expenses, oxygen tanks, physical therapy, eye appointments, and everyday baby essentials.
So, together in prayer and love, we can rally around the Manteuffel family to make this time a little easier. I thank you all for your generosity and support in any form you you could give.
With Gratitude,
Missy D.
