Kristen Sears - National Team Cyclist

My name is Kristen Sears. I've been a competitive cyclist on the road and track since 2010. I was a part of the 2013 Junior Pan Am Gold Medal Team Pursuit squad in Mexico. I am four-time National Champion on the track and 11-time Provincial Champion on the road and track.
In 2014, I moved up to the senior elite ranks and I am currently a National Team athlete, training to qualify to represent Canada at international competitions, including the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow Scotland this summer and the 2015 Pan Am Games that will take place in the new velodrome being built in Milton Ontario.
I have been training hard in the gym and on my bike all winter and I have an extensive training and racing program set for the 2014 season. I will be required to travel throughout Canada and the U.S. and further abroad in order to gain experience and to compete against some of the top female elite track cyclists in the world.
I have been fortunate over the years to have great support from my family, friends, coach, trainer, equipment sponsors, and teammates. This year however, the required training time and the cost of travel and equipment have far surpassed my ability to earn enough money through part-time jobs to support my racing and training schedule.
I am reaching out to you, friends, extended family, local businesses, cycling enthusiasts and others to be part of my team and to share a part of the excitement as I take the next step towards representing Canada on the international stage at major events around the world.
Thank you for your financial support and contribution. I intend on making you proud and keeping you updated on my progress.

I thank you again for your continuing support and encouragement.
Sincerely,
Kristen Sears
