Jeff's Hospital/Recovery
Donation protected
On July 31, Jeff was admitted to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick in critical condition with a blood clot between his pancreas and liver as well as severe pancreatitis. Due to the extreme symptoms and after ten days at Mid Coast, Jeff needed to be transferred by ambulance to the Spcial Care Unit at Maine Medical Center in Portland for more aggressive treatment of the potentially fatal disease. Jeff remained another week in the SCU at Maine Med, where severe internal bleeding was occurring and being treated.
As of August 22, Jeff is still being treated at Maine Med and will remain there under their direct care until his condition allows him to return home to his family and friends, especially his two children Stephen and Marin.
Jeff is an indepedent contractor with no health insurance. He is struggling to cover all the medical expenses as well as the normal, day to day bills while out of work
Estimated hospital expenses for this duration of care will exceed $80,000 however, the struggle does not end there.
Once released from Maine Medical, Jeff will not be able to return to work for some time, as more rest and healing will be required.
He is hoping to downsize his home to remain close to his children in Gorham and maintain a simple, hard-working lifestyle once completely recovered.
All funds raised for Jeff and his children on this site will be used exclusively for the positive advancement of the family including, medical bills, child support, downsized home for Jeff and his two children, getting current on past due bills, due to illness, as well as stronger financial planning for the future.
