Support for Sophie’s Heart Surgery

Hello, we are the Ross family. Zac, Sophie, and baby Oliver. In 2023 while Sophie was pregnant she ended up in the hospital with a blood clot in her brain. It was during that hospital stay that the doctor checked her heart and found a hole in the wall between the upper left and right chambers. Because she was pregnant they couldn’t do more tests. Now baby Oliver is here and healthy (praise God) and the doctors were able to do further testing. On March 17th Sophie had further imaging done of her heart which revealed at least three holes on the inner wall. These holes let blood move from one side of the heart to the other when it shouldn’t which has caused to much blood flow to Sophie’s lungs. If the holes are not fixed it can cause heart failure or even more blood flow to her lungs which would make to much pressure to breath in the future. Sophie requires open heart surgery where the surgeon will remove and replace the wall of her heart between the upper two chambers. We are hoping to do the surgery in July. Sophie will need to stay in the hospital for about a week before going home to recover. Zac will need to take quite a bit of time off work to take care of Sophie and Oliver. We are hoping to raise money to pay for medical costs until our insurance really kicks in and to help cover bills when Zac takes time off work. We would be so grateful for any donations and prayers.
