Support an Ethiopian Father Rebuild After Tragedy
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Mastawesha Assefa Wolle (Mame), a remarkable woman whose love and generosity touched so many lives. She was known for her unwavering kindness, always offering support and care to those in need, regardless of their background.
Mastawesha leaves behind her devoted husband, Solomon Getachew, and their three young children, ages 12, 11, and 6. For the past four years, Solomon has been navigating life as a new immigrant in the United States, facing the challenges of adjusting to a new country while lovingly caring for his wife during her courageous 18-month battle with cancer.
The funeral was held on Saturday, January 11th, and the outpouring of support from friends and the community has been a source of great comfort to Solomon and his family. Your generosity has provided critical relief during this devastating time, reminding Solomon that he is not alone in his grief.
As Solomon and his children now face the long and difficult journey of rebuilding their lives, we are asking for your continued support. Every donation—no matter the size—eases their financial burdens and provides a beacon of hope as they adjust to life without Mastawesha’s loving presence.
In Ethiopian culture, grief is shared communally, and your kindness has shown Solomon and his children that they are surrounded by a compassionate and caring community. Your contributions not only help cover immediate expenses but also honor the legacy of a woman who gave so much to others in her lifetime.
Thank you for standing with Solomon and his family during this unimaginable time. Your support means more than words can express and brings light to a family in need.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Hanna (on behalf of Solomon and his family)
