Mia’s Memorial
It was with great sadness that Sarah, Shaun, Jake and Liam of British Columbia and James of Calgary announce the passing of our sweet angel warrior Miss Mia on August 12th, 2021 and the young age of 15.
Mia was nothing short of a spitfire and was a special girl who was gifted to this world. Despite challenges in her life, Mia inspired anyone she met. Mia has overcome so many obstacles in her 15 years on this earth.
Mia was diagnosed at a young age with Ohtahara Syndrome. A very rare seizure disorder. Mia’s mom Sarah made it her life mission to become a Canadian cannabis activist for children to have the right to be treated with cannabis when pharmaceutical options have failed.
Mia had an amazing life and was loved and cherished beyond words. She had a smile that could light up a sky and an amazing sense of humour. Mia’s mom Sarah made a promise to Mia that she would never want or need for anything. That goal was always met. Mia has two big brothers Jake and Liam. Jake and Liam were not only brothers to Mia but protectors and caregivers. Mia loved her big brothers so so much.
We are having an additional GOFUNDME because of the overwhelming support, so the family has options in regards to where they would like Mia’s final resting place to be. Mia was originally born in Ontario and we want to give the family options when it comes to visiting family and friends during this time.
