M'Lynn Stanley, Fire Survivor

Wednesday, December 16th around 1:00 a.m. a fire woke M’Lynn in her apartment in Merced California. She woke to find herself trapped, the door covered in flames, and the floor beginning to collapse. She rushed to her window, kicked out the screen and sat on the ledge of her second story room and began to scream for help. A few men walking by heard her screams and stopped to assist her. M’Lynn then jumped from her window into the arms of the men, suffering only a leg injury.
M’Lynn lost all of her belongings in the fire, nothing was salvageable. She is a first year Elementary school teacher who just moved to California. Even though she lost everything, she remains positive and grateful to be alive. She returned on Friday the week of the fire to teach her first and second graders from a wheelchair. Anything given to help M’Lynn begin to rebuild her life will be genuinely appreciated. Thank you for your prayers and support.
