Help us to BRING YOGA To COMMUNITIES IN SOUTHEAST ALASKA!!! Please help Yoga instructors Sarasvati Hewitt, born and raised in Ketchikan Alaska who has taught yoga for over 11 years and co-owned a busy studio in Portland Oregon [sarasvatihewitt.com] and Kris Myers born in Juneau, Alaska as a registered Tlingit- Haidi Native [www.empoweredyoganw.com] raise money and awareness for our project to Bring Yoga to Communities in Southeast Alaska in August 2014. The money raised will be used to transport and house Sarasvati and Kris to each place and supply mats and props for locals to keep. ALL CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED FOR FREE. ALL classes Open to the public! We will be teaching Gentle/Intro Yoga as well as All Levels. Everyone is Welcome! We will teach between 2-classes a day spending a few days in each location. We will be traveling to Ketchikan, Metlakatla ,POW- including Klawock, Craig, Hydaburg and others, Sitka, Wrangell and Juneau. [If you want your town on the list and don't see it yet, tell us!] We will be holding our Metlakatala event with great thanks to Tia Atkinson, Executive Director of Alaska Native Girls in her space at David Leask Town Hall. In Juneau we will be holding our event at MountainSideWellness. We are still pinning down venues for POW, Wrangell and Sitka. We will be working closely with each community to bring the beauty of Yoga to Everyone. And perhaps even more importantly, working to keep an ongoing relationship in these communities by eventually training locals so that they may Teach Yoga themselves and offer it ongoing to their community. We will be on the lookout for students who possess the desire to practice and teach this Ancient Science of Yoga. Check us out and learn about us! Please share this project with your friends and family! Thank you SO much for your support and donations! Together we can change the world with Yoga.
