Shoes for Orphan Souls

This year’s theme for Rotary International is "Rotary Connects the World". For our small Rotary Club in South Side Saint Joseph Missouri this means shoes! We believe we can connect the world by supplying shoes to orphaned kids across the world.

In fact, we are making it this year's goal to collect as many shoes as possible to make a worldly super sized impact.  

We are looking for any source to donate shoes or for funds to help us purchase them.   

The shoes we get will be delivered sometime this summer; they will be sized for orphans in some of the neediest areas of our world like Guatemala and Kenya, to help young aspiring children along the sometimes very difficult early part of their journey through life.  

If you can even spare $3.00 - that can help get us acquire even one pair, as we have many volunteers helping to search sources and supplies from many different vendors.  Many of which is discontinued fashion, over stock or even just no longer of “value” to their patrons in this part of the world.  These same shoes can literally be life changers, HOPE providers for the children we will be giving them to!  How’s that for making a purpose filled connection!?

 Many children that have been helped in the past, have claimed that the shoes they received made that BIG difference, give them hope to build the strength and confidence to persevere.

Also, as we endeavor to get the word out to help us with this God sized goal – we realize our small Club of 35 members will not be able to do this alone.  So we are counting on prayer AND the best advertising money can not buy: WORD OF MOUTH!  That is YOU – our Shoes for Orphans Souls CHAMPION --  aka SOS CHAMPION – with hashtag: #soschampion.  
 
So, if you can like or share our service project on social media with the hashtag #soschampion – that would be very awesome and a huge help to this cause.

To help us, help you, to be able to help us back, we have had donated to this cause some wrist bands and T-shirts to give away to SOS Champions who donate over $20 and over $50!

With your permission, (and your address) for a $20 or more donation we will send one of our cool “wrist band promoters” and add you to our Champion list on our Footsteps of HOPE Journey Board.   

For a $50 or more donation you will also get a T-shirt that you can wear to help us raise awareness for this project and so many orphans who need shoes.   (t-shirt picture coming soon!)

The more orphan feet we can put shoes on, the more hope we can all have for them to have the confidence and self esteem needed to be strong contributing fellow brothers and sisters to their families and neighbors, and thereby to our world --  all the while making use of shoes that might otherwise become “dead inventory” stored away in some warehouse or even landfill.
