Support for Mike’s Family

At the request of Mike’s employer of sixteen years, Long Branch High School, I have set up this GoFundMe so his colleagues could help me lay my husband to rest, as this was unexpected and at 40 and 38-years-old, we were not prepared financially for such an unfortunate tragedy.
My husband went into Monmouth Medical Center on Thursday, June 13th for a vasectomy. Upon being brought into the OR for the procedure, he vomited, aspirated and went into cardiac arrest. Life saving measurements were taken to bring Michael back, but unfortunately, he went into cardiac arrest again.
The team at MMC arranged for a specialist team at Newark Beth Israel to come down to Long Branch to connect Mike up to a machine called ECMO, which would relieve his lungs of pressure to oxygenate and allow his organs to function.
A cat scan the next morning showed brain damage and the EEG confirmed decreased and minimal brain activity.
Michael is the love of my life and has been my husband for six years. He helped me create the two most beautiful, perfect children on earth: Tessa (5) and Nicholas (18 months). His life ended so unexpectedly and my heart is shattered into a million pieces.
I’ve always called him my Batman and now, he really is a hero as he died an organ donor.
I don’t know how I’ll do life without him.
