5 Years Cancer Free!
Tax deductible
Five years ago, I received earth-shattering news: I had brain cancer. When I received the diagnosis, it was hard to look a week into the future, let alone five years. One of the requirements to leave the hospital after surgery was to walk to the end of the hallway independently. Determined to reach my first post-op goal, I completed those beginning steps and was officially on the road to recovery. Five years later, I continue to put one foot in front of the other, humbled by how far I've come since that walk down the hospital hallway. In 2019, I completed a half-marathon to celebrate two years cancer-free. In honor of being five years cancer-free, I decided to take on the next challenge: a Ragnar Relay! A Ragnar is a 200-mile team race from Muskegon, Michigan, to Traverse City, Michigan, in roughly 30 hours. I am very thankful that I have six wonderful friends who are crazy enough to do this with me! We decided to take on this challenge as both a celebration and a chance to ignite hope in those continually fighting a disease that desperately needs research and advancements in treatment. We will run September 23rd – 24th to raise funds for the American Brain Tumor Association. In the comment section, I encourage you to share the story or name of the individual you may be donating in honor of. We also have opportunities for sponsorships if any businesses would like to partner on this journey. More updates to come. Thank you!
