8th Annual College Essentials Basket Drive

Since 2018, I’ve hosted an Annual College Essentials Basket Giveaway to support first-year college students who are heading to campus—many for the first time in their families. Each year, I create customized laundry baskets filled with everyday college necessities to help ease the financial burden and remind students that their community believes in them.

Why I Do This:

I started this giveaway because I know firsthand how tough it can be to start college without the basics. When I was preparing for my own college journey, my family couldn’t afford everything on my dorm checklist—but thanks to a few generous people who stepped in, I made it. Now, I’m paying it forward.

What’s Inside Each Basket:

Each student receives a filled laundry basket that includes:

-Twin XL sheet set and comforter

-Towels and washcloths

-Shower caddy & toiletries

-School supplies (notebooks, pens, folders, etc.)

-Laundry detergent & cleaning products

Where Your Donation Goes:

Your generous support will help us:

1. Purchase bulk essentials for each basket

2. Cover the cost of personalized items like bedding and towels

3. Offset transportation and delivery costs for out-of-town students

With your help, we can fill more baskets, uplift more students, and make sure no one feels like they’re starting this journey alone.
