Jennifer’s fund for charity

We need your help so we can help others!

Tiny Pantry Times (TPT) was founded in September 2020 by myself, Jennifer, and my husband, Adam, to address growing poverty, food insecurity, and food waste in northern Johnson County, Kansas. What started as a box in our front yard to help a few friends and neighbors during COVID has exploded into something we could have never anticipated! Today, TPT provides basic items for survival and an improved quality of life for recipients that need a hand up. We provide an opportunity for all people to have 24/7/365 access with no questions asked. Our belief is that by providing a hand up through collaboration with our neighbors, local businesses, and community leaders, our recipients become self-sufficient.

To date, TPT has garnered almost 800 like-minded donor members through the Nextdoor app. and our website www.tinypantrytimes.org. With our community's help, TPT is taking in and distributing, on average, 9,000 pounds of food and personal hygiene items per month! This translates to over 100,000 pounds annually of items necessary to preserve human health, dignity, and nutritional security, in northern Johnson County, KS and surrounding areas. All of this is available at our 48 cubic foot pantry box in our front yard.

Recently, a complaint was lodged that the pantry was causing a traffic issue. The issue was resolved with the city, but traffic is still a concern. The pantry can be a busy place at times, and recipients park on our driveway. They have also been offered the use of our neighbor’s driveway across the street, but children running across the busy street and individuals with mobility issues can struggle to get to the pantry safely.

Most of our donations are in kind, meaning we do not have a revenue stream to pay for things like rent and utilities to relocate. A circular driveway built in our front yard behind the pantry, seems like the most economical  and safe solution. We are requesting $8,000 to pay for the installation of a circular driveway to keep our people safe.

We hope you will consider a donation, and thank you for your generosity!
