I work at a Title 1 high school in NYC, (Newtown High School) and bring the students on field trips into the mountains and woods north of NYC. On the field trips, the students learn hands on earth science topics and environmental studies. As we hike and learn, the students clean up trash and debris from the trails and woods, connecting them to the environment and the future. Many students miss out on these experiences because of the cost of the bus. All $ will go toward paying for seats for students.
