Help Benny with his surgery

Hi, this is Amanda, Joe, and Phoenix. We are Benny’s family. Benny boy has been with us since he was 4 months old. He is now 10. He is so very dear to us. Those of you who know Benny, know what a sweet boy he is. He is our honorary bandmate and joins us every Sunday for band

practice. He is our guard dog and alerter of when the mail has arrived. He is a lover of fine cheese and baby carrots. He has been a healthy and happy boy up until this past year. We noticed swelling on his left leg. We were given several opinions from different veterinarians and specialists along with X-rays and blood tests and everyone kept leaning towards arthritis. The swelling kept growing and his limping got worse. We finally had a veterinarian that wanted to take a closer look. She performed a biopsy last week and sadly found that it is a soft tissue sarcoma. It is localized but the leg is not viable. He has not been able to use it because the tumor has affected the tendons. Amputation is the best approach. It is a scary decision for us but the vet is very certain his quality of life will improve. She assured us that tripod dogs can live very happy normal lives and given that Benny is strong she believes in a great outcome. After a year of so many vet visits we have hit our tipping point financially and realized we need help from our community for his surgery which is scheduled for next week. The cost of the surgery is estimated at $2000. From the bottom of our hearts we greatly appreciate any help you could give.
