David’s Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, I am a friend of David’s mother, Tracy. I am also a medical professional who has seen and experienced first-hand, professionally and personally, the immense financial burden that hospital costs and other needs during prolonged recovery place on families.
In the last week of February 2023, David was riding to class on his Vespa when he was struck by another vehicle, resulting in multiple life-threatening injuries. We are so thankful for all the first responders, hospital staff and medical specialists who worked together to save his life! At the time of creating this fundraiser, David is still in early stage recovery from severe abdominal trauma, brain bleeds, bone fractures and complicating pneumonia, yet his amazing will to overcome all is already apparent.
Medical costs already exceed what insurance policies are expected to cover by hundreds of thousands of dollars. Donated funds will be used to cover cost of recovery including direct medical costs, lost income that would normally pay for ongoing expenses such David’s housing. Tracy and David’s brother, AJ, are currently taking turns staying by David’s side to support him through this initial touch-and-go phase of recovery. Although she won’t go into detail, I know there are some costs to Tracy that she considers minor in the big picture of it all. A minimal amount of donated funds will be used to enable David to have the family support that is crucial at this time.
Those who know David and Tracy already know that donations are going to people who do not pursue a materialistic life. They live rich but materially simplistic lives. Tracy does not ask of others, but I know she gives quietly and generously from her heart. She would never ask, so I am asking on their behalf, with permission from both, hoping the world will give generously in return.
Please help in this effort by donating and (equally important!!) sharing this fundraiser anywhere possible. Thanks to all who consider.
